Founded in 1957, Hytek Finishes Company began as Heath Plating in Kent, Washington to support the metal finishing requirements of the Heath Tecna Plastics Company, in addition to numerous technical suppliers in the Seattle area. Hyteks creation was in direct support of all major Boeing aircraft platforms at the time. In 1982, Heath Tecna became a part of Criton Technologies, a Bellevue, Washington based company specializing in aerospace, defense and commercial products and services. At this time, Heath Plating became known as todays Hytek Finishes. Hyteks growth and Critons merge with Esterline Technologies in 1987 enabled us to move into our current 100,000 square foot facility in 1989. Hyteks approval base expanded rapidly beyond Boeing into more defense and OEM support for BAe, Lockheed, Bell Helicopters, Goodrich Corporation, Gulfstream, Vought and many others. Today, Hyteks range of services and approvals continue to grow with the demands of our customers, as evidenced by a recently added thermal spray system. This plasma spray capability allows Hytek to shoot over one hundred different alloy wires and soon powdered metal applications such as tungsten carbide and nickel based powders. Hytek became ISO 9001:2000/AS9100 Rev B Registered in the year 2003 and is Nadcap accredited for NDT, Heat Treat, Chemical Processing and Shot Peen. Additionally, Hytek is proud to have been selected by Lockheed Martin to be one of a very few fully certified metal finishers in the U.S. identified with the F-35/Joint Strike Fighter program. |
